While the COVID-19 pandemic has forced cancellation of the Emo Fair, representatives of the United, Devlin, Emo and Chapple 4H Beef Clubs have come together to offer their steer for sale in a different manner this year. Each steer owner is selling their animal individually.

We have 33 4-H market steers to sale! We will not be hosting a live steer auction this year but most members had started their project last fall so we have decided to continue on. Members are completing their club work and will be marketing their animals on their own. ANYONE can purchase a steer. Get together with family and friends and BUY a steer. You will be buying some of the BEST meat in the Rainy River District.

Steers will be sold on the rail which means carcass weight.Carcass weight is roughly approximately 60% of live weight. The steers are booked in at the abattoir for August 17th and 24th. Once butchered they will hang for approximately 14 days and then will be cut and wrapped at a processor of your choice. The members will pay the abattoir costs and you will pay for cutting and wrapping. Please reach out if you have questions.
